Sandwich Explosion...

Hey y'all! Many of you know, I am allergic to wheat. Usually this poses a problem during the lunch hour. All I want is a nice turkey sandwich, sans the bread. So today, I walked up to the sandwich counter at Whole Foods, and asked for a roasted turkey on... lettuce. I really prefer my sandwiches and burgers "protein style" on lettuce instead of bread, but they are a little difficult to eat. This is how my sandwich ended up...What a disaster!

Oh well, it isn't the most pleasant thing to eat, can be a little messy, but it is still really good!

This past month we celebrated my birthday! (too paranoid about the Internet to post on the actual day, ha!) We had a very lovely dinner at my favorite restaurant, BOA in Santa Monica. This place is to die for, in my opinion. I didn't take any pictures of the food, but it was all delish! I had the petite fillet and my husband had the roasted chicken, both were amazing. We also had a field greens salad and shrimp cocktail, YUM! And cotton candy for desert! And since it was my birthday, they brought over a sparkler! It was pretty cool. My favorite thing at BOA is a special drink they have called the blackberry smash. I am not quite sure what is in it, besides blackberry (hence the name) but it is unreal. I am not a big drinker at all, but I can never resist this cocktail!

After dinner, we went home to watch my favorite movie of all time:

And my sweet husband sent me these! They are from Empty Vase, and I swear, they have the most amazing arrangements at that place. And the flowers really last, and last. The last arrangement we got from empty vase lasted over a week.

It was the best birthday a gal could ask for!

Happy Birthday! I must go to BOA now.

I've been thinking about going wheat-free for health reasons. Is it really hard?

Oh and if sandwhiches like that are in my future then I have changed my mind ;)

Happy birthday! Looks like it was great! (Except for that sad excuse of a sandwich!)

That cotton candy looks awesome.

one of my best friends is allergic to wheat too. whole foods is her saving grace. have you tried their wheat-free bakery line? she let me try a piece of their sundried tomato/roasted garlic bread (made with rice flour) and it was amazing! expensive, but so freaking tasty!
